We had great weather for this years summer ball, which was again held at the Old Palace Lodge in Dunstable. As usual the atmosphere was relaxed and the music was brilliant. A huge congratulations goes to Maxine Charlton who was awarded her Shodan (1st Dan).

Well done to all the students who attempted their next colour belts. We had 100% pass rate again and we have got a lot of new higher grades in the class. A big well done goes to Guy Rutherford who passed his 1st kyu (brown/2 red). It was his last public grading and now looks forward to attempting his intermediate blackbelt.
Sunday 10th May 09
This was the Kancho Kanazawa course held at Watford which a lot of people ahve been waiting all year for. A great number of the Baldock and Kimpton students attended this course and had a great time being taught by the 10th Dan and his son. It is a brilliant course to take part in and was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. The best part of the course for many was to have their photo taken with Sensei Kanazawa himself and lucky for us we were also able to get a group photo with the baldock and Kimpton members.

A handful of Baldock and Kimpton students attended the Akita course at Biggleswade. The course was arranged by Sensei Scoot, who flew in Sensei Akita from Germany. The course was thoroughly enjoyed by all and was arranged around the core basics of karate. It was a hard 4hrs of training but one not to be missed.
